Postage stamps United Kingdom

The United Kingdom is an island country in Western Europe on the British Isles and several smaller coastal islands. In 1874, the Universal Postal Union honored Britain's pioneering role in issuing postage stamps (1840 black penny) with a decree granting an exception for this country, which is the only one not required to display its name. Since then, the head of the reigning monarch has been sufficient identification for British stamps.
