Postage stamps of San Marino

San Marino, with an area of 61.2 km², is the smallest republic in Europe, located on the Apennine Peninsula. San Marino began issuing stamps in 1877 and later became enormously popular due to their wide range of themes such as sports, flowers, birds, historic cars, airplanes, and ships. San Marino was among the first countries to issue stamps in support of the Olympic Games.
