Egypt is a North African tourist-attractive coastal country by the Mediterranean and Red Seas. World-renowned monuments are protected by UNESCO, the most significant being the pyramids in Giza, the Valley of the Kings, the temples in Karnak, Luxor, Abu Simbel, etc. The current official currency is the Egyptian pound.
