This beautiful 5-euro collector's coin of Slovakia planned for 2025 celebrates one of the greatest kings of the Slovak sky – the imperial eagle (Aquila heliaca). The detailed reliefs on both sides of the coin capture impressive details of its majestic figure, as well as its young in the nest. This endangered species is a symbol of strength, beauty, and the wild nature of Slovakia.
On the obverse of the coin, the eagle is depicted in two iconic poses – one with spread wings and the other standing, fully ready to hunt. The reverse features a detailed portrait of the eagle with its young in the nest, symbolizing the family bond and care typical of this species. This coin is part of the "Fauna and Flora in Slovakia" series and emphasizes the importance of protecting our fauna. Collecting Slovak 5 euro coins has recently gained immense popularity, and this coin will certainly enrich many a collector's collection. Fifteen artistic designs from various authors were submitted to the competition, with two of them created in co-authorship. In July 2024, they were evaluated by the commission for selecting designs for commemorative and collector euro coins. The expert advisor to the commission was Ing. Andrea Lešová, PhD., a zoologist from the State Nature Protection of the Slovak Republic. The first prize and the right to realization were awarded to Tomáš Lamač, DiS. The release of the 5 euro coin IMPERIAL EAGLE is planned for May 2025. You can find the current offer of 5 euro coins here.
