He was an initiator and organizer of literary life and the publisher of the literary magazine Hronka (1836 – 1838). He is the author of the theoretical work On Beauty (1836), the poetic composition Běla (1836), and the philosophical novel Ladislav (1838). He also engaged in spiritual poetry, religious writing, and translations from world literature. His proposal for the organization of the Evangelical Church in Hungary was implemented by the Imperial Protestant Patent in 1859.
