Specification
Mikuláš Galanda (4.5.1895 Trenčianske Teplice - 5.6.1938 Bratislava), is one of the prominent pioneers and promoters of Slovak modern art. Through illustrations and book designs, he significantly elevated the level of interwar book graphics. For this area of creation, he was awarded the Silver Medal at the World Exhibition in Paris in 1937.
Throughout his work, he strived to formulate Slovak artistic modernity, drawing on the achievements of European painting development. He leaned towards expressionist and cubist trends and built his own painting expression on this basis, conceptually focused on domestic content, intertwined with the Slovak landscape and people.

Obverse side:
In the center of the coin field between two diagonal lines is depicted a mother with a child in her arms from Galanda's painting Mother. Parallel to the diagonals is the name SLOVAK REPUBLIC. Next to the mother on the left is the state emblem of the Slovak Republic, on the right the year of minting.

Reverse side:
In the center of the coin field between two diagonal lines is depicted a portrait of Mikuláš Galanda. Parallel to the diagonals is the facsimile signature and the years of birth and death. To the right of the portrait is the designation of the nominal value.
